How Healthy Is Your Credit

There is only one way to ensure the "health"
from your credit card. You need to secure your credit --
Report. Your credit report is your "consumer
Identity "that potential lenders will assess your
Creditworthiness.

Use these tips to your credit profile
"Tune-up 'needs for 2004.

Tip # 1 - Verify Error
Your credit report or profile is more than just a
Collection, who your creditors are and how much
They owe them or they have paid.

The first thing you need to do is carefully consider that
Your credit report is correct. Almost 70% of the loan --
Reports contain errors.

These errors can be as simple as a wrong
Middle or first address. Or it could be as serious
reporting as a creditor that you are very late with a
Payment in fact, if you're not too late.

This error may not seem like a big deal for you. However, to a future lender like a mortgage company, it is a big difference!

Carefully consider whether your credit report, and if you find an
Error, contact your creditors and credit bureaus. Catch
and correct these errors now before it hurts your chances
securing the loan in the future.

Tip # 2 - Correction of errors
The two most common errors in credit reports
are:

1) Account Information wrong

2) incorrect recording of late payments.

If you have an account that you have not heard
You must contact the lender or issuer immediately. Remember that the search for accounts that you do not personally opened, is a sign of possible identity theft.

Hopefully you will find that this error is not more than an oversight and not an identity theft problem. Most of this report occurs when an account by a family member or someone with a similar name on your credit report.

If your problem is an error in reporting a late payment
You need proof to make your case before this error
can be corrected or removed. The most common error occurs when a payment as "late" if it is actually a current or "on time" payment.

In both cases the problem can and should be corrected.
You need to correct this problem in writing. Keep a journal, or all calls and correspondence.

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires the Credit
Offices of the agency and reporting the information to the
Credit Bureau to correct inaccurate information in your
Credit report. Therefore, it is important that you contact
both the Credit Bureau and the creditor whose information in dispute.

A sample letter is here to help you in correcting
Your credit profile. Make sure you clearly identify the information that you dispute, including copies of receipts or documents to your position. Then demand that the information be corrected or deleted from your file.

Send your letter by certified mail, and an acknowledgment from the receiver. Keep all mail correspondence to you. Enter the agencies, the 30 days to begin their investigation. You can use it but be aware that they do not call the rights of consumers! You need it in writing To protect your rights.

You must use the results of their investigation.
Although the process will take some time, it is important to do this. This is your credit profile, your "consumer identity" that is at stake. Do not expect an error to correct itself.

At your request, the credit must indicate
Corrections to your credit profile for anyone who has in your report in the last six months. If you look for a job and were due to incorrect information in your credit report, you can report the corrected e-mail to anyone who is a copy in the past two years.

or problems can be corrected before your lender can
